Again - more cute pet photos....

 

When Cindy and I replaced the light fixture in the kitchen, we found water damage to the drywall under the fixture - no bueno!  Jeff is coming up today to take a look at it - he was a drywall installer in another life (when Kody and Kolby were little babies...and they are 31 and 33 now).  Today is book club, and Kirby was coming up anyway, so it will be nice to see both of them, and hopefully Jeff can fix my ceiling.  He already gave me the disclaimer that he did the drywall, not the taping and texturing.  Cindy gave me a few pointers, so it should look okay when we are done - if nothing else, it will look better than it does now!!!

I still have to fix the ceilings in the bathrooms too - the light fixtures are smaller, so I have started filling in the holes (the pink stuff - it dries white), then I'll sand, texture, and paint.

I had a little help putting the spackling up, too....

The main bath needs a bit more help - the fixture doesn't cover the cylinder for the wires.  I've covered that up, and put some mud up - it needs more work, but that is on the plan for the weekend!

I was on vacation last week, and did some "home work".  We had decided to replace the flooring in both bathrooms last year before Ralph died, and it got sidelined a bit....so I started forward again - faster than I meant to though.  I got a contractor to install, and figured he'd be booked out and I could paint the kitchen and bathrooms while I was on vacation, but...he had a cancellation and showed up bright and early on Monday.  That meant I spent Saturday and Sunday painting.....the bright side - I had lots of help from the kittens....they spent a lot of time locked up in a bedroom while I painted and the flooring people were here (Jessie is an escape artist extraordinaire....)

The finished bathroom - I finally printed and framed some of my photos to use - they turned out pretty nice, if I do say so myself!

I even got a few photos put up in my bedroom...

Allison is so good with the kittens - they keep stealing her chair, and she lets them.  Here she actually sat down in "my" chair (unheard of!!) because Jessie was in her chair.

Alex and I took advantage of Indigenous People Day, and took the dogs for a walk at Turtle Bay - Alli had a helper, and the bank was closed. It was a beautiful morning, but we didn't walk very far - we almost waited too late to go for a walk - it was close to 100 in the afternoon.  

Alex spotted a couple of ducks at Turtle Bay (the actual bay where the turtles are....).

Not a lot of fall foliage yet, but I got a couple of Autumn shots....

Here's what I made for book club for September - cool key fobs!  Super easy, and I got to play with some very fun and beautiful ribbons, not to mention new hardware and finishing techniques.

 

The kittens are constantly getting into my sewing supplies, they pull the pins out of my fabric, grab my fabric and pull it all over the place, they get into my scraps, they’re in my stuff! I bought a new box to put everything in that tucks away onto the shelf so they get anything out. I’m not sure how well it going to actually work because as you can see it also big enough to hold a kitten. James decided it was a very nice bed
