I took Pat to the airport on Sunday, and about the time I hit Red Bluff on the way back, an alert hit my phone from Watch Duty. I do usually take a look to see where the fire is, and hate it when the fire is named after a place/street I recognize. I was NOT thrilled when the alert was for the "Airport" fire - though there are a lot of airports in the north state. Then I saw the rest of the alert....my block on my street......
Talk about panic mode! I called Cindy M, who was watching Alli for me, and she didn't answer, so I called AJ. He was a bit breathless and agitated - large explosions and fire behind the subdivision (he was breathless because he had to run get the phone, but it only added to my anxiety!). It wasn't on my street, thank goodness, and no structure damages anywhere. According to NextDoor, it was started by someone running a tractor in the field (seriously, running a tractor at 4:00 p,m, when we were 105 degrees and close to 0% humidity?) My phone blew up with texts while I was driving home from friends checking to make sure I was okay - it's good to know I'm loved, and even better to be able to say things were fine.
