I went MIA again - sorry - I got busy (again).  The last couple of weeks has been a big push to get Margene packed up, so I've spent more time than normal at her place.  Her escrow closed Wednesday, and most of her belongings were shipped out on Thursday (she has until the 1st to get out of the house.)  Unfortunately, everything didn't fit on the first truck, so a second truck has arrived on site, and will be packed on Saturday......

I had a Sacramento trip for work last week as well, and got stopped at this truck fire - the containers in the back were on fire - all I could think about was "what if this was the truck with Margene's stuff....?"  Hopefully her trucks will arrive safe and sound in Dahlonegah.......

Book club was this week at my place - the book was "Take me With You" by Catherine Ryan Hyde - LOVED IT!  (Which was a good thing - since I chose the book!)  I made campfire bookmarks for the book.

We collected a couple of Easter Island heads for the fountain area from Margene......they need to be repainted, but that's for later.

And one of Margene's tulips......

Mom's Christmas cacti are blooming!  I guess that makes them Easter cacti....though the pink one bloomed at Christmas too.  This is the first time I've seen the yellow one in bloom.

I've been too busy to even take pictures, I think!  That, and I haven't done anything exciting.  Most of my "busy" has been just the normal things I do - work, home, Alli, etc.  Most of my extra time has been spent helping Margene pack.  I took yesterday off from work (originally planned as just a 'me' day) and spent it down at her house packing.  I'll head back down this morning too, after shopping etc.

I did go to a fund raiser dinner last night - the Bella Vista Farms had a dinner at the casino.  The bank sponsored a table, and had an extra ticket.  Fun evening!  It's fun to hang with work friends when we're not at work!

Since Margene and I are doing a road trip, I made us a pillow for the car.  It fastens to the seat belt, and is super soft.  It turned out really cute.  If I made it again, I might drop the positioning of the straps down a bit, but we'll give it a good try next month.  The pattern is here.

I love the Nextdoor App! (and my neighbors and neighborhood!)  Look what they found for us......

I didn't see the post on the app, I actually got a call from our Vet's office - the neighbors called in her rabies tag to try to find her owners (her name tag with our phone numbers got lost evidently....).  The conversation started with "Are you missing a dog?"  Since I had literally just walked in the door from work, I told her "I would have to check - I see the white one, I see the black one.....let me guess, I'm missing a chocolate lab."  Jasper had wandered away while Ralph was working outside with the gate open and closed.  She didn't get far, but since she is almost blind and deaf, she was a danger to herself wandering around.  I love my neighborhood!

Book club this month read "Still Life with Murder" by P. B. Ryan.  Interesting little murder mystery book, set right after the Civil War.  Opium addiction was tied to the crime, so the bookmark this month was a poppy flower.  They turned out pretty cute.  The pattern for them is here.

I got all dressed up the other night - I volunteered at the North State Cancer league dinner and auction - checking people in, taking payments for silent and live auction, etc.  It was a fun evening, all in all.  My feet were very tired (actually, all of me was tired...) by the end of my shift.  I was there from 5:30 to 11:15 - after a full Saturday already.  Margene loaned me the jewelry to go with my red dress - shiny!!!!

While Margene was showing her home, she brought Chewie down so he wouldn't bark and annoy the possible buyers.  He was taunting the big dogs by going in the pool area without them.

Margene's house sold within the first week on the market, with a 30 day escrow.  That means she has to be out of the house before the 1st of April.....panic time!  She is also worried about doing too much before the home inspections/appraisals are done, just in case it falls out of escrow.  That means a big push at the end of the month to get "everything" out, in a truck and shipped to Georgia.  She'll then have to stick around for a while to finish her job, etc.  Then, the two of us will drive across the country to Dahlonega!  (I'll fly back.....)  Road trip!!!
