Alex is finishing up a visit to the Okinawa area, and sent some pictures!

Finished!  I actually finished a project!  This one started with a skein of yarn made from sari silk remnants from Darn Good Yarn, but I had to order a second skein to finish it.  I like it - it is very chunky knit - much the fashion right now, and I love the colors in it.

I spent yesterday helping Margene in her yard.  Her house goes on the market tomorrow, and we were "adding color" to the yard.  We were also removing a lot of color from the yard - mainly weeds!  I pulled weeds, transplanted flowers, planted flowers, added bark and sprayed weeds.  It was a beautiful to be working in the yard, and a lot of fun to do it with someone else!  Now....to go clean up MY yard.....

Look what my valentine brought to me at work for Valentine's Day!

AJ's in his semester break at school, and they went skiing/snowboarding.  I already posted pictures from the night - here are some during the day.

What do you do when you have a to-do lit a mile long, and you don't want to do anything?  You sit and watch the Olympics and make another hat......

Malorie texted me yesterday morning - When Nicholas woke up, he told her I was coming.....it took her a while to convince him that I wasn't coming that day, and he was seriously bummed.  Then she set me this picture of him napping with one of the trucks I brought him.  So cute!

I made an afghan for Leona's niece in white, yellow and gray.  We are waiting until the baby arrives before I put a border on it (ruffled for a girl, straight for a boy) but I saw this hat and made it with the same colors of the afghan yesterday.  (I did get a few rows done on Friday, but really, it was all done in one day!)  It turned out so cute!  The pattern is here.

Not long after Christmas, AJ requested a birthday package this year - but all he wanted was me to send him his i-watch.  Not a problem....then he added a few things.  Like 7 scarves and gloves sets.  The gloves weren't an issue - they don't take that long, but 7 scarves!  He was not going to get them by his birthday!  He had specific color requests, so after multiple photos of different colors and different yarns were exchanged on Messenger, he got 7 scarves and 9 gloves, and I managed to find room for a scarf and glove set for him (not handmade) some jerky, some ibuprofen, and some sweat-tarts.  But that was all I could fit in the large box!  (At the cost to ship one package, I put everything I could in it!!!)  The scarves were a hit though!

We had a going-away lunch for Jackie last week - she's going to work for a mortgage company.  Here's a picture of the whole group (plus Michelle....) I have already replaced her position (I can't replace her, but you know what I mean....since I had just finished interviewing for a newly created position, I got to take my #2 pick from that set!)  That means we are training 2 new people at once now.  Ouch!
