Ralph and I went down to the Sundial Bridge yesterday - and the water is higher than before (and I think I missed the highest day). Here are photos that I took throughout February, just for comparison.

This was February 10th - and I was amazed that the area we walk on under the bridge was so far under water.  Notice the bench on the far right of the photo....

This was just a few days later - February 13th, and the water was up to the bench on the right of the sidewalk.

Yesterday, February 25th, the water is over the bench.

I also finished up a project yesterday....woohoo!!!  A couple of weeks ago, Ralph and I went down to IKEA and I got a set a drawers for my sewing room.  Last Tuesday, I put it together all by myself!!!  Yesterday, I put in liners, storage boxes, etc. and put my stuff in it.  I like it!!!

Dollar Tree has the perfect sized storage boxes, too!  The slim ones fit three across, and with the shelf liner, don't slide about.  I'm a happy camper!!

I took a couple of days off work, intending to go to Susanville, but....the weather fates aren't helping.  Saturday, Chris and I were supposed to go up and move some furniture down, but he didn't want to try it in the rain/snow that was forecast.  We're going to try for next weekend......

Since California is currently floating away, I finished my book club book (The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware) rather than do more constructive things, and needed to find a bookmark idea.  Since the story unfolds on a yacht/small cruise ship, that's what I designed this time.  Not too bad, if I say so myself!!!

Since I had Monday off, I took another look at the water levels at the Sundial Bridge.  Since Alli had Monday off, that meant she had to go with me.  She did NOT want to go for a walk....but once she got out on the bridge, she seemed to be enjoying herself.

The water levels were up, and they are up higher since - the dam increased the outflow again, since another storm is headed our way. At least the Oroville Dam crisis seems to be getting better.  They may not have the spillway fixed, but people are going back home.

Indy found another sleeping partner.......one that doesn't get pushed out of the bed.

I made heart bookmarks for my department this year - they turned out pretty cute!  The link to the pattern is here at http://craftpenguin.com/crafts/miniature-heart-ornament

Here's my snowman quilting project so far....

I got the fabric for the snowmen yesterday - I now get to learn to work with wool and do hand applique....another challenge!  So far, so good, so I'm hoping the snowmen turn out cute.  Next month I'll get the fabric for the border.

I got the dogs new toys on Friday when I took Koori in for a bath. Luna likes the squeaker toy.....

I took a long weekend off from work this weekend, planning on going up to work on Mom's house, but....I had an offer from a friend to go up with me next weekend, and he'd bring his work trailer and help me move - an offer I couldn't pass up, so...I am taking a weekend just for me!!!  I took Friday and Monday off from work, so I started Friday off by putting Alli on the bus at 6:00 a.m., had an extra cup of coffee (like I needed that!) and worked on my quilting project a little bit, took Koori in for a bath at 9:00, ran around town (oil change for the RAV, misc. shopping, etc.) and then lunch with Meredith.  We decided to go for a walk after lunch, and went to the Sundial Bridge to look at the river. Wow!  The river is very high.  I knew that it was, don't get me wrong, but seeing it up close and personal made the recent flooding very real.  There have been several areas around here that were damaged by floods with the recent rain.

This is as close as we could get to the turtle pond on the river walk.  The water was flowing over the path.

The turtles seemed to be doing fine though.

Be still my beating heart!  Headlines in the Record Searchlight today - Hobby Lobby coming to Redding!  (Okay - it wasn't the top headline, and no exclamation point, but they should have!!!)  More yarn!  (like I need more yarn, but.......)

It's been a busy couple of weeks, and no posts from me - sorry!  I have to admit, I like to post a photo when I post, and I haven't taken many lately.  I've been plenty busy though!

Dawn and I went up to Susanville a couple of weekends ago to 'make Dave move' - his words, not mine.  He had everything out already, though I did help him move his TV.  I went mainly to check out the houses - both his and Mom's.  Dave has had nothing but problems with his new house.  He had known electrical issues - to be fixed after closing, but the electrician that came in to fix them said the problem was a lot worse than originally stated - to the tune of about $13,000.  The second electrician said they weren't THAT bad, and put in a fix.  We''ll see which one was correct.....

Since there was an electric problem, LMUD turned the power off and needed an inspection to reconnect.  The temps in Susanville were in the low teens at that time, so Dave had the house winterized so he didn't loose pipes in the cold.  When the power was back on, he had the water turned back on, and he blew the faucet in the kitchen.  He got that fixed, and then the monitor heater didn't work anymore.

He was supposed to get that replaced on Monday.  Monday morning, he sent me a text that the pellet stove at Mom's place wasn't working anymore either......
