I finished the baby quilt!  I think it turned out okay - but each time I do one, I find things that I could/should do better.

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?  Very well, thank you!  Everything is doing great!  I have bell pepper blossoms, cucumber blossoms, bean blossoms, tomato blossoms, and even a couple of little tomatoes, eggplant blossoms, and one eggplant that's big enough to eat.

From a walk AJ and I took last weekend - and this was right before the dogs jumped in and ruined the reflections......

Book club was Wednesday and I didn't finish the book, so was a bit hampered for ideas for a bookmark from the book.   Therefore....since the book was "The Circle"...they got a circle.  I forgot to take pictures of all of them, but here's what I had left over.

The next book is "The Kitchen House" by Kathleen Grissom.  I'm hoping I can finish that one....

Another after-work kayaking trip last night!  Woohoo!  This time, a friend from work, Robin, went with me.  She hadn't kayaked at Whiskeytown before, so it was a new adventure for her.  She's also fairly new to kayaking, so we were pretty well matched.

Getting started.....if you look in the upper left of the photo, you'll see Momma and Papa Goose with their babies....

Here's a closer shot of Momma and Papa Goose with their babies....

Kicking back, enjoying some cheese, crackers and yogurt....

I got a new quilt kit yesterday - A Walk in the Park!  I'm hoping it is as easy as it looks to put together - I love the colors in it.

I also started a baby quilt for Julie - David's daughter (step daughter??? Whatever you call it, she's been part of the family since she was a baby)  She's due the middle of June with a baby girl.  If figured I needed something fairly quick, since I waited so long.

Here's my color choice critic......

And here's the paperwork critic telling me I need to do the paperwork first before I get to play......

And here's the quilt up on the project board.  The pink boarder strip is just there as a filler.  I don't know what I'll use for the border, but I had that in my stash and thought I'd try it out.  I did manage to use a lot of the colors from my stash - I only bought the main butterfly fabric, and three fat quarters (so far at least!)  Not too bad!

I also finished up a crocheted cotton grocery bag for Margene!  I made one similar for myself for my kayaking bag.  I needed something to hold my camera and 'stuff' in the body of the kayak so they stay out of the water, but I also didn't want them to disappear in the kayak either!  It worked okay last trip - not the bag's fault. I need to work on the logistics of filling it.....

I took my new trailer hitch out for its first drive on Friday night.  Margene and I went kayaking after I got off work.  The RAV handles the trailer pretty well - it was a bit windy, so I really felt the trailer on the freeway driving 65.  It was a beautiful trip!

Margene and I had a little snack on the beach when we got in for kayaking.  The sun was setting in some storm clouds, and there had been a control burn in the area.  All that made for a pretty sky!

We had a visitor as well - looking for crumbs, if not a whole cracker.....there had been a momma goose with her babies on the beach when we were coming into the marina, but she had left by the time we got the kayaks stowed away.

The loading docks....

David made an offer on a house in Susanville!     Here's a link to the property profile, and a picture of it.  Ralph, Alli and I went up last weekend to see it, and I think it is perfect for him -well, except for the yard - there's a lot of yard.....if it was all lawn, no problem, he could just mow it, but there's 2 garden areas, flowers, etc.  The house though, is perfect!

It's a cute little 2 bedroom, 1 bath house, not far from Memorial Park, which means it's not far from his work.  The current owners have put some improvements in - floors, windows, and the shop.  Cute!

AJ and I took the dogs for a quilt walk last night.

This month's quilt blocks for my quilting club:

I'm half-way done with the blocks.  Here's what I have so far.....

Now, I also need 100+ flying geese blocks for the border.......so I'm not half-way done by any means.  This has been a fun quilt - each block is so different.
